Biography

Professor Muhammed Mubashir Babatunde Uthman is a distinguished scholar and academician in Public Health and Community Medicine. He is a Professor at the Department of Epidemiology and Community Health, Faculty of Clinical Sciences, College of Health Sciences, University of Ilorin, Nigeria. With expertise in Epidemiology, he serves as an Honorary Consultant Epidemiologist at the Department of Epidemiology and Community Health, University of Ilorin Teaching Hospital. Professor Uthman has contributed significantly to public health, specializing in areas such as Environmental Health, Occupational Health, Demography, Evidence-based Healthcare, Research Ethics, and Medical Statistics. He has received numerous prestigious awards, including the TETFUND IBR Grant, Fogarty International Fellowship Award, Cochrane HIV/AIDS Fellowship, NPHCDA grant, and Nuffield Foundation Fellowship. In addition to his research achievements, he is devoted to mentoring students and has successfully supervised 38 Master’s projects, 1 Ph.D. thesis, and 4 fellowship dissertations. Professor Uthman has authored many peer-reviewed articles, instructional textbooks, and technical reports, solidifying his reputation as an esteemed figure in the field of public health.
