The Department of Epidemiology & Community Health consists of members with expertise in all areas of Public Health namely Epidemiology, Biostatistics, Reproductive Health, Health Administration& Management, Health Education, Public Health Nutrition, Geriatrics, Disease Surveillance, Health Economics & Health Care Financing, and Health Information Management. These experts apply their skills to a wide range of exciting and perceived public health problems in public health domain. The Department trains medical and other cadre of health personnel at undergraduate and postgraduate levels. The medical students trained in the department after graduation are registered into Nigeria Medical Association.
The department is committed to the University’s mission of teaching, learning, research and community development services in the field of Epidemiology & Community Health and Public Health Practice. The department aimed at producing men and women who are well-trained in all aspects of Public Health with the main purpose of meeting national and international needs in the area of Public health practice development. Students are being trained to be competent, skilful and knowledge to compete with their peers globally. Our training in the department also include developing and producing postgraduate in the field of Epidemiology and Community Health
