Professor Tanimola Makanjuola AKANDE is a Professor of Public Health at the University of Ilorin, Ilorin, Nigeria, and a Consultant Public Health Physician at the University of Ilorin Teaching Hospital. He is a specialist in Health Management. He was Head of the Department of Epidemiology & Community Health at the University of Ilorin. He was a member World Health Organization (WHO) African Region Technical Advisory Group (TAG) on Measles and Rubella. He is a Senior Researcher with the Amsterdam Institute for Global Health and Development (AIGHD). He was at various times a WHO and UNICEF Consultant on Polio eradication, Measles control, and Tetanus Elimination programmes in Nigeria. He is currently a member Board of Directors, Georgetown Global Health Nigeria Ltd (GGHN), Georgetown University Medical Centre; member Scientific Advisory Board, Vaccine Impact Modelling Consortium (VIMC) Imperial College London; member of Schmidt-Futures Vaccine Safety and Confidence-Building Working Group (VacSafe) Columbia University; Ex-member of the Governing Council of Bingham University, Karu.
