Message from the H.O.D

It is with great pleasure that I welcome you to the Department of Epidemiology and Community Health, University of Ilorin.
Our Department plays a pivotal role in shaping future healthcare professionals by providing a strong foundation in Community Medicine, Epidemiology, and Public Health—disciplines essential for improving health outcomes at both individual and population levels.
We offer a comprehensive range of academic programmes—MB;BS, MPH, M.Com.H, and Ph.D.—that seamlessly integrate healthcare, education, and research in Community Medicine and Public Health. These programmes are delivered in close collaboration with state and federal ministries of health, as well as local and international development partners. Each programme is carefully designed to equip students with the knowledge and competencies required to analyse disease patterns, identify determinants of health, apply preventive strategies, and manage health systems effectively.
